Welcome to New at SU Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators around the world who are sharing creative paper crafting ideas. Each month we are given a theme and we create something to represent that theme. This month we focus out attention to the January-June 2021 catalogue. There are so many beautiful products in this edition. I created a Scrapbooking page for one of my newsletters. I loved the page so much, I used the layout to create a card. Of course, I did not use the same papers nor elements as the paper and elements I used for my page are not in this catalogue. More about that later. Let’s focus on my card. I used the designer series paper from the annual catalogue “Flowers for Every Season”, just because I love it. My focus point (the flowers) is from this mini catalogue. I used the dies and stamps from the In Bloom bundle. These flowers are just gorgeous! The stitching is the big attraction for me.
I used the Just Jade cardstock as my card base. This design, for me works better as a square card and is 5-1/2 x 5-1/2. I did this so I wouldn’t have to use 12 x 12 cardstock. I Cut the 6 x 6 Designer series Paper down to 3 x 3 and then cut it in two on the diagonal. Placed one diagonal in the top and opposite bottom corners. I then cut a 1/2 inch band of contrasting Designer Series paper from the same pack and another 3 x 3 cut in half on the diagonal and glued it behind a piece of the new Natural Touch Specialty paper that is available from March 3 to May 3rd. This paper is awesome, It has a wood grain feel to it.
I cut the largest flower, two of the medium and two of the second smallest in Magenta Madness cardstock and layered them to them altogether to form my big flower. I layered two medium Blushing Bride flowers together to form three flowers and placed them around the large flower For the centers of the flowers, I used the Black Mat dots from the catalogue. I added three stems behind the flowers and cut two clusters of leaves to sit behind the flowers; added a double bow from the Linen Thread and voila! A beautiful card.
I needed a 9 x 9 sheet to make a custom envelope, so I used the In Good Taste DSP from the annual catalogue. I added the same dsp from the strips on my card to the bottom of the envelope and the back flap.
